Jannettas has been on South Street since 1908 and is now in its fifth generation of the same family. The flavours change constantly but always run past 100 options, the unexpected combinations (tablet and raspberry, salted caramel, irn bru in summer) sit alongside the classics, all made on the premises. The shop itself is small and busy, the queues honest rather than performative.
You will walk past this and think it is a regular ice cream shop. Stop anyway. It is the best argument for St Andrews being worth more than a day.
