Converted from stables that once housed the horses pulling boats along the Rochdale Canal. The interior keeps the original stone and wood; the terrace extends over the water and fits several hundred people in summer.
The food is crowd-pleasing rather than revelatory, but the setting does all the heavy lifting. On a sunny Manchester afternoon, there aren't many better places to be.
