The permanent collection is free and rotates regularly, pulling from the Tate's deep reserves of 20th and 21st century work. Major exhibitions have featured Yoko Ono, Mondrian, and African artists rarely shown in the North of England.
Note: the original Albert Dock building is closed for renovation until 2027. Tate Liverpool is currently operating at Mann Island on the waterfront, a short walk from Pier Head. Good cafe, great bookshop.
