The Globe is where Hay-on-Wye goes when it wants to be something other than a town of bookshops, a small arts venue and bar on Newport Street with live music, events, and the kind of warm, anything-could-happen atmosphere that only works in small towns.
During Hay Festival it becomes genuinely electric. Outside festival season it's quieter but still the best place to spend an evening, real ales, honest food and usually something interesting on.
