At 800 feet, the highest town in the Cotswolds, with a central square that has hosted markets since 1107. The antique shops are the main draw, dozens of them, ranging from proper Georgian furniture dealers to quirky curiosity stalls.
The Norman church has a famous yew-framed doorway. Good independent cafes and delis make it worth at least half a day.
