The building is as significant as the collection: a curved white structure perched above Porthmeor Beach, with the Atlantic visible through the gallery windows. It was designed with the St Ives School of artists in mind. Barbara Hepworth, Patrick Heron, Ben Nicholson.
The rooftop cafe alone is worth the entry price. Come when it's busy with surfers below and the gallery feels like a command centre overlooking the sea.
