Rowena Cade built this with her bare hands starting in 1929, hewing seats out of the granite cliff above Porthcurno. The result is one of the world's most extraordinary performance spaces: tiered stone seating, the stage at the cliff's edge, and beyond it, the Atlantic.
Performances run May to September. Bring a cushion, a blanket, and something warm, the wind off the sea is real. Day visitors pay to explore the site; evening show-goers get the full experience.
