Black Mocha has built something rarer than a good coffee shop, a place with real community identity. The Kemptown location draws a loyal neighbourhood crowd, the coffee is taken seriously, and the whole thing feels like it's run by people who actually care about the space and the people in it.
Brighton has plenty of good cafés. This one has heart.
