Anstruther Fish Bar has been in the Scotland's-best-fish-and-chips conversation for decades and keeps winning it. The haddock is impeccably fresh (landed at nearby harbours), the batter is a model of restraint, and the chips are the right thickness. Eat them outside on the harbour wall if the weather allows.
