Belfast's creative scene is genuinely underrated. The MAC is the anchor: contemporary visual art, good theatre programme, a cafe that draws the Cathedral Quarter neighbourhood in. Oh Yeah Music Centre tracks the city's extraordinary music history, from Van Morrison through Stiff Little Fingers to Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club, and Ash. Black Box is where the alternative nightlife has its home, with a programming breadth that covers folk, jazz, electronic, and experimental work in a single week. Cathedral Quarter and Queen's Quarter between them contain most of what makes Belfast worth staying in more than 48 hours.
