Clyne Gardens sits between Swansea and Mumbles in the Blackpill area and most visitors walk straight past it. In spring, the rhododendrons are extraordinary, vast blooms in purples and pinks through ancient woodland that feels genuinely remote despite being minutes from the city.
Free to enter, almost never crowded and peaceful in a way that earns the word. Come in late April or May for the full colour, but it's worth visiting any time of year.
