Snowdon at 1,085 metres is the highest point in Wales and England and one of the most-climbed mountains in Britain. The six routes up vary significantly in character: the Llanberis Path is the most popular and least technical; the Pyg Track and the Miners' Track are the most scenic; the Snowdon Horseshoe via Crib Goch is the most serious. The summit café and the mountain railway from Llanberis operate seasonally.
Summit conditions can be severe regardless of what the weather looks like below. Visibility changes in minutes. Wear proper footwear and carry layers. The view from the summit on a genuinely clear day extends to Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Wicklow Hills, and the Mourne Mountains.
