The walks through Portmeirion's estate grounds, past exotic woodland planted by Clough Williams-Ellis, along the Dwyryd estuary shoreline with the mountains beyond, are the part of the visit most people spend too little time on. The village is the famous part, but this is where the estate reveals its true scale.
The combination of estuary tides, subtropical plants and Snowdonian peaks makes the walk cinematic in a way that photographs only partially capture. Covered under general estate admission.
