Botany Bay's chalk stacks rising from the sand are one of those views that feel almost too dramatic to be English. The cliffs glow white against a blue sky or turn amber in low winter sun, and the beach below them is quiet enough to feel like a real escape even in summer.
Just north of Broadstairs and close enough to Margate to combine with a day in town. The walk along the clifftop towards the North Foreland is one of England's better coastal walks.
