Wellcome Collection

FreegalleryEuston, London

Free Euston museum where medicine meets art, challenging, brilliantly curated, and always thought-provoking.

Free entry

Henry Wellcome's vast collection of medical curiosities forms the permanent base. Napoleon's toothbrush, an iron lung, a 19th century chastity belt. But the rotating exhibitions are where it gets interesting: recent shows have covered sleep, electroshock therapy, and the history of loneliness.

The cafe is excellent, the bookshop is dangerous for your wallet, and entry is entirely free. One of London's most underrated cultural spaces.
