Laynes Espresso is a narrow room next to Leeds City Station that holds about 20 people when full, and is usually full. It opened in 2011 and helped define what specialty coffee in Leeds meant, properly sourced, carefully brewed, no theatre. The espresso is excellent and the batch filter is the sensible choice for a quick stop.
The queues at 8:30am on weekdays are a reliable indicator of how good it is. The space is too small for lingering, take yours to go if the station is your next stop.
