The Quiraing is the northern section of the Trotternish landslip, and it is stranger than the Storr, a plateau of shattered rock, hidden flat-topped meadows (the Table), and basalt needles that have been moving, very slowly, downhill since the last ice age. The main walk follows the cliff edge from the road parking area, traverses the Table, and returns through the landslip below. It takes about 2.5 hours.
The road over the ridge from Staffin to Uig is worth driving slowly even without stopping, the views west and east from the road itself are among the best on the island. Early morning or evening light on the Quiraing creates something that doesn't look entirely real.
