Neist Point is the westernmost tip of Skye, a basalt headland that pushes out into the Minch with nothing between it and the Outer Hebrides. The walk from the car park to the lighthouse takes about 20 minutes, descending a long stepped path with the sea cliffs falling away on either side. At the bottom, the lighthouse sits on the point in a way that makes every photograph look composed.
This is one of Scotland's best spots to see minke whales, basking sharks, and Risso's dolphins, they pass close to the cliffs between May and September. Arrive for sunset in summer. Bring wind-proof layers regardless of what the weather looked like at your accommodation.
