Richard Booth's is the heart of Hay-on-Wye, a rambling, three-floor independent bookshop on Lion Street with a cinema in the basement and a café on the first floor that serves good coffee among the stacks. It's the kind of place that justifies a trip on its own.
Named for the eccentric bookseller who put Hay on the map, it carries new and secondhand books across every genre and hosts events throughout the year. Give yourself two hours minimum and still expect to miss things.
