Chapter is the kind of arts centre that larger cities should have more of, cinema with four screens showing independent and world film, a gallery with serious programming, a bar that people come to independently of what's on, and a sense of being useful to its neighbourhood rather than performing culture at it. It's been in Canton since 1971 in a converted Victorian school.
The bar alone is worth the trip from the city centre. The programme is reliably better than what's showing in Cardiff's multiplexes. Reasonably priced for everything. Check the listings before you go.
