Digbeth is what happens when a formerly industrial area gets handed to creative people and left alone long enough to find its own character. The street art is world-class, the independent music venues are genuine, and the craft beer scene has grown into something that people from other cities make trips for.
It's also home to a growing number of Black-owned creative businesses, pop-ups, and markets that make it feel like a genuinely inclusive creative district rather than a gentrified facsimile of one.
