The Spaniard Bar

£15–£30barCathedral Quarter, Belfast

Cathedral Quarter's most lovably odd bar, vinyl on the turntable, eclectic decor, good cocktails, and the kind of space that gets better as it fills.

£15–£30 per person

The Spaniard is a small bar tucked into Cathedral Quarter that has become one of those places everyone in Belfast has a memory of. The decor is eclectic in the way that means someone actually made choices rather than following a brief, old posters, odd objects, the kind of interior that rewards looking around. Vinyl plays on the turntable and the selection is good enough to pay attention to.

The cocktails are made properly and priced fairly for the quality. The space is compact and that works in its favour, when it fills up (and it does) the energy builds quickly without the room feeling overwhelming. A good bar for a conversation or for settling into the evening before moving on.

One of those Belfast places that doesn't need to explain itself. Come in, get a drink, see what happens.
