The Perch is Belfast's rooftop bar and it does the job well. The view across the city centre from up here is the best you'll get from a bar stool, the skyline is modest by the standards of larger cities, which makes it feel more intimate than overwhelming. On a clear evening the light changes in a way that rewards being somewhere high with a drink in your hand.
The cocktail list is thoughtful and the bar team knows what they're doing. Prices are fair for what you're getting, you're paying a little for the elevation and the setting, but the drinks hold up on their own. It gets busy on weekends so arriving earlier in the evening is better if you want a good spot.
This is a good date destination or a strong opener for an evening in the city centre. On a warm evening in Belfast, there are very few better places to start.
