Pickie Fun Park sits on Bangor's seafront and is unashamedly what it is: seaside nostalgia with a light hand. Pedal swans on the boating lake, a small train that runs along the waterfront, a putting green, and a decent ice cream setup. It's not trying to be anything more, and that's why it works. The backdrop is the marina and Belfast Lough, which makes even the most modest pedal boat circuit look picturesque.
Good for an afternoon when the weather is cooperating and you want something simple and unhurried. Works equally for children and for adults who've correctly identified that sitting by the water doing very little is a legitimate way to spend a few hours. Entry to the park itself is free; individual rides and activities have small charges.
