Constitution Hill

£0–£10outdoorAberystwyth, Aberystwyth

Clifftop viewpoint over Cardigan Bay, sea, mountains and Welsh coast in one panorama.

£0–£10 free to walk, or take the cliff railway

Constitution Hill is the piece of geography that makes Aberystwyth what it is, a steep headland at the north end of the promenade with 360-degree views taking in Cardigan Bay, the Cambrian Mountains and, on a clear day, the Snowdonia peaks. It can be walked up in about twenty minutes, or you take the Cliff Railway.

The camera obscura at the top is one of the largest in the world and projects a live image of the entire bay and town below onto a viewing table. It sounds gimmicky; it's actually magnificent.
